All ‘AS’ pieces are made using precious materials from 925 sterling silver to 22k Gold. The jewellery made in 925 sterling silver receives a layer of plating. We plate with white Rhodium or 18k matt yellow gold. All jewellery is designed to last a lifetime. However as with all jewellery, general wear and tear will occur over time. It is very important to take care of your pieces and ensure they remain beautiful and last longer.
It is actually very easy to care and maintain your ‘AS’ products as it all depends on how the piece is worn and stored; please find below some helpful tips that we have put together for you:
How to wear your Jewellery
Please remove jewellery before going to bed or participating in physical activity and make sure you are not wearing whilst swimming or showering. Avoid any exposure to certain harsh chemicals or environments as it will result in compromising the integrity of your jewellery. This includes, but is not limited to the following: perspiration, perfumes, hair spray, cleaning agents, chlorine and salt water.
How to store your Jewellery
Jewellery should be stored away from natural sunlight and heat. We recommend to place them in a protective (lined) jewellery box, a tarnish-resistant pouch or in a plastic zip lock bag made of polyethylene. Never use polyvinyl plastic bags. Do not store your jewellery in the bathroom or any humid spot.
Please note that our ‘AS’ boxes are not made for long-term storage as they are not airtight and tarnishing will occur over time.
How to clean your Jewellery
We know how important is to keep the original brilliance of your jewellery, so we recommend you to use a super soft, dry cloth after each wear and carefully remove any make up or skin cream.
WARNING: We do not guarantee that our gold plated jewellery will last forever. Gold plated pieces are, by default, more fragile and liable to lose their colour overtime. The speed at which the gold plating fades will depend on multiple variables from chemical products used for skincare, level of perspiration or even your natural skin PH. For this reason, it is particularly important to take special care of your gold plated jewellery.
REPLATING & REPAIRS
Quality and craftsmanship are the most important part of the brand. All ‘AS’ pieces are carefully handmade to last in time. However, jewellery by its very nature is delicate and sensitive. If you should need a repair on any ‘AS’ piece, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please make sure that you reference your Order Number and Repair Issue. All repairs will be assessed on an individual basis.
We will repair, at no charge, any breakage caused by a manufacturer defect within 30 days of receipt of purchase. Over time damages or deemed to be caused by misuse or general wear, will incur a repair charge. We can only accept repairs for items purchased on akanshasethi.com. Repairs for items purchased at one of our Retailers must be returned through the original point of purchase.

Protecting your gold jewellery
Most of our gold jewellery is made with 14 or 18 carat gold. Due to the purity of the metal, it is quite soft, and therefore needs to be treated with care. As the gemstones are set all the way around, the jewellery pieces are susceptible to damage. The setting and the stones can both be damaged by sharp impacts that can occur when working with your hands, doing exercise etc. It is therefore best to wear your jewellery on your non-leading hand and remove them if you know you are about to embark on an activity that may expose them to risk.
